% sudo apt-get install iamerican

Setting up iamerican (3.1.20-21.1) ... Please wait while I search for ispell dictionaries... There is only one installed dictionary - american. Making american the default ispell dictionary...done. Please note that you can run '/usr/sbin/update-ispell-dictionary' to change the default ispell dictionary.
